On Tuesday, the Ukraine situation worsened as Russian soldiers increased their shelling, causing a shortage of food, water, and medication. On Monday, both parties had their third round of talks. The negotiations are said to have been generally fruitless, but a top Ukrainian official claimed to have made some, vague progress toward the establishment of safe passageways for civilians. Meanwhile, Russia’s chief negotiator, Vladimir Medinsky, said the negotiations “did not meet” Moscow’s expectations.
