Yamaha is working on a series hybrid system for the TMax maxi-scooter.

Yamaha Motor India has filed a patent for the hybrid system on its famous TMax maxi-scooter, which is offered as a premium product globally. The company’s most recent approach to hybrid technology is based on the ‘serial hybrid’ arrangement. The internal combustion engine and the electric motor are linked directly via the crank.
While the filing of the new patent does not ensure the actual launch of this system, if Yamaha has intentions to offer it in the market, it might happen by late-2023. An Indian launch, on the other hand, is not in the cards. Yamaha Motor India, on the other hand, has two entry-level hybrid scooters on the market: the Fascino 125 and the Ray ZR 125.
