World Latest News Updates: Poland to replace Russia and search alternate for LPG import
1 min read
Poland, the world’s top importer of Russian liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), is expanding its seaborne LPG imports from Sweden and Norway to replace Russian supplies. According to Refinitiv Eikon statistics, seaborne LPG imports to Poland via the northern ports of Gdansk, Gdynia, and Szczecin totaled 53,000 tonnes from March 1 to March 20. More than half of Poland’s LPG imports came from Russia in 2021, via sea and rail, but the country is currently working to reduce its reliance on Russian energy amid the Ukraine war. Gaspol, one of Poland’s main LPG purchasers, has chosen to discontinue receiving LPG from Russia.
