According to statistics from job search engine Monster.com on Tuesday, the IT/BPO business has the biggest need for women in the workforce, followed by IT/Computers-Software and Banking/Accounting/Financial Services.

As the globe celebrates International Women’s Day today, women’s labour force participation in India is steadily increasing, indicating that growing industries may see a surge in women’s engagement in the coming months, according to the research.

With increased awareness about gender equity in the workplace, Monster.com’s online recruiting statistics reveal that the IT/BPO business has the greatest percentage of positions accessible for women (30%).

The survey elaborated on the future areas in the employment market, stating that the IT/Computers-Software business has the biggest percentage of female job searchers at 22 percent. Contrary to common assumption, the education sector is ranked third highest. Travel and tourism, Internet/E-commerce, and Hospitals/Healthcare/Diagnostics have the smallest demand share for women, accounting for only 3% of the top 10 industries. “We’ve noticed that tech-enabled businesses like ITES, BPO, and banking, to mention a few, have a greater representation of women than others”, stated Sekhar Garisa, CEO of Monster.com.
