The daily COVID-19 caseload in India continues to drop, with 1,27,952 new cases recorded on Saturday.
The active tally has fallen by over a lakh in the last 24 hours and now stands at 13,31,648. The daily optimism rate fell from 9.27 percent on Friday to 7.98 percent today.
According to data from the Health Ministry, 2,30,814 recoveries and 1059 fatalities were also documented over this time period. The current recovery rate is 95.64 percent.
After a little more than a year, India has provided more than 168.98 crore COVID-19 vaccinations. Earlier this year, the project was expanded to cover older youngsters (those above the age of 15), as well as to make a third ‘precautionary’ dosage available to frontline personnel and sick geriatric adults. According to statistics on the CoWIN dashboard, almost 5.34 crore children have already received one dosage of Covaxin. A third dosage of vaccination has also been administered to almost 1.37 crore people.
