Next week promises to be an exciting one for Indian customers, with a number of formal launches and unveilings planned.

Starting Monday, there are at least three confirmed debuts or unveilings, ranging from a new electric car to a new mid-size sedan to SUVs.

Here’s a short rundown of the forthcoming vehicles that will be launched and unveiled in India next week.

Lexus India is planning to unveil the second-generation NX 350h SUV in the nation on March 9. The SUV, which has previously been presented in worldwide markets, will be updated with a new design and a hybrid powertrain. It will be driven by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder normally aspirated petrol engine combined with an electric motor, producing 145 kW. They have a maximum power of 239 PS and have a range of 55 kilometres in electric-only mode.

The next day, Volkswagen’s new mid-size car Virtus would have its world debut. The sedan, which will compete with the recently debuted Skoda Slavia, will be unveiled on March 8 by the German automaker. Virtus will replace the Vento in Volkswagen’s portfolio, much as Slavia replaced the Rapid in Skoda’s. Virtus will be built on the same MQB A0 IN platform as Skoda Slavia is built on. It is also expected to use the same 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI engines as the Slavia.
