According to the US Embassy in Ukraine, the security situation in the nation “continues to be unpredictable, with ongoing combat within several cities and other areas”.
Thousands of Ukrainians and refugees of other nationalities are seeking to exit Ukraine through several border crossings as a result of Russian military activities in the country.
“The security situation in Ukraine remains unclear, with ongoing fighting within several cities and other locations, and conditions may worsen if Russian military strikes in various regions of the country continue without notice”, the embassy stated.
The US embassy advises its people to enter Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia if at all feasible. Border crossings into Poland and Moldova are cited as being “severely backed up”. According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, approximately 400,000 Ukrainian refugees have abandoned their homes as of Sunday.
