United Kingdom has sanctioned Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich

The owner of Chelsea football club, Roman Abramovich, has been sanctioned by the UK authorities.
The Russian billionaire is one of seven Russian billionaires who have had their assets frozen.
Abramovich is defined as a “pro-Kremlin oligarch” with strong ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin in a UK Treasury document disclosed online.
Abramovich previously denied any financial links to Putin or the Kremlin.
