Unaccounted Crores of Cash Found at the Home of an Ex-IPS Officer in Uttar Pradesh

Noida: The Income Tax Department conducted searches at the residence of a former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer in Sector-50, Noida (Uttar Pradesh), which resulted in the recovery of undeclared cash worth several hundred crores.
The cash was found during the search operation, which was first referred to as a survey operation. These currencies include the denominations of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500. The department has yet to issue an official comment.
According to the intelligence, the former Indian Police Service officer has links to Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party. The source says, numerous crores of rupees in cash were stashed in the basement of the building in Sector-50, Noida.
The reports state that the former IPS officer was running a company from the basement, which had 650 lockers. An inquiry has been initiated to investigate whether it is related to the Benami property.
