Ukrainians line up for food in the besieged city of Mariupol

While multiple attempts to establish corridors and agree to brief ceasefires to allow Ukrainians to flee Mariupol have failed, some relief and supplies arrived yesterday in a sector of the city held by Russian soldiers.
According to Reuters, more than 100 people waited patiently in line for boxes of food and humanitarian goods being delivered from a lorry.
Angelina, a young mother of two, said she had gotten bread and food and felt fortunate to have arrived in time. “You don’t always find out… and then it’s too late”, she explained.
“It’s tough to depart by bus these days. We hope that the number of people attempting to flee will decrease and that it will become simpler for us to escape”, she said.
