Ukraine’s president begs for assistance in fending off a Russian invasion.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appealed to world leaders to aid Ukraine with defense and airspace protection from Russia.
Russia “has unleased a war with Ukraine and the whole democratic world,” Zelenskyy said in a statement issued amid Russia’s wide-ranging onslaught on Ukraine, which began early Thursday.
He urged international leaders to offer large-scale defense assistance and to safeguard Ukraine’s airspace from the “aggressor.”
