Ukraine has requested that its World Cup play-off semi-final against Scotland be postponed1 min read
The nations were scheduled to meet on March 24 at Hampden Park, but football in Ukraine has been halted after Russia’s invasion of the country.
The champions will face either Wales or Austria in the final for a berth in Qatar 2022.
FIFA, the world governing body, said it is collaborating with UEFA and the Scottish Football Association to “find a suitable solution”.
A FIFA representative confirmed the request, saying, “FIFA expresses its greatest solidarity to everyone touched by what is occurring in Ukraine”. In due course, another update will be released.
