According to police, two ladies reportedly tumbled off a marble rock and plunged into the Narmada river while taking a picture at the tourist destination of new Bheraghat in Jabalpur on Friday.
Priyanka Shukla, city superintendent of police (CSP) for the Bargi region, stated, “The Soni family, a Mumbai resident, had come to visit Bheraghat.” They were staying at a motel nearby. They planned to go to the new Bheraghat on Friday evening. The widow, Hansa Soni, and her soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Riddhi Picchadia, were standing on a rock and snapping selfies. Hansa became disoriented and fell into the Narmada River. Ridhi rushed in to help her. They were both swept away by the powerful river. ‘During a search aided by local swimmers, the body of Hansa Soni was discovered late Friday evening, while the body of Riddhi was discovered on Saturday.’
