Two security team leaders leaving company says Twitter

1 min read

Twitter Inc said on Friday that its head of security has left the firm and that its top information security officer will leave in the coming weeks.

The reorganisation comes after Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey stepped down as CEO in November, turning over the reins to senior deputy Parag Agrawal, who has since overhauled the social media company’s leadership structure.

Twitter did not say whether the resignations were voluntary.

Peiter Zatko, also known as “Mudge”, a well-known hacker, was named head of security in 2020, following a security breach that allowed hackers to tweet from verified accounts for notable personalities like as millionaire Bill Gates and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The New York Times broke the news of Zatko’s leaving and Rinki Sethi’s impending exit as CISO on Friday. Zatko and Sethi could not be reached for comment right away.
