Two people have been detained in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, in connection with the death of a DMK member

In connection with the murder of DMK functionary Selvam, two individuals have been apprehended near Trichy, Tamil Nadu. The two had departed Chennai following the incident, according to police.
They were detained at the Samaya Puram checkpoint in Trichy for allegedly being involved in the case.
Selvam, a member of the ruling DMK, was hacked to death at his home in Madipakkam, Chennai. On Tuesday, February 1, an unidentified group broke into Selvam’s home under the guise of garlanding him and hacked him to death.
Radhakrishnan and Dhanaseelan have been named as the two suspects. They were apprehended in the Samaya Puram neighbourhood of Trichy.
