On Sunday, two Christian priests were assassinated in Peshawar by unknown bikers. The Christian pastors, identified as Pastor Patrick and Pastor William Siraj, were killed on Ring Road in Peshawar.
According to the local media, the priests were coming after Sunday mass. Pastor Anwar Fazl, Chairman of Aijaq TV and Eternal Life Church, condemned the horrible conduct and demanded that the culprits be arrested. Otherwise, the religious churches in Pakistan will stage large-scale protests.
Meanwhile, the Church of Pakistan’s most senior bishop, Azad Marshall, criticised the assault on priests and asked the government to provide justice and security to Christians, according to DW News.
As Marshall stated on Twitter, “We demand justice and safety for Christians from the government of Pakistan.” Police stated that they were searching for the culprits using CCTV footage. William Siraj, 75, was murdered immediately in the attack on the city’s ring road. While a third man was unharmed in the car, Pastor Patrick was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died later. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the shooting.
