Twitter Layoffs
Twitter is struggling after the ownership went to Elon Musk, who chose the mass job cuts. As per the report, the latest job cuts are product managers, data scientists, and engineers who have worked on machine learning and site reliability. As per the press report, Twitter has fired at least 200 employees. This will be around 10 percent among 2000 employees who were working in most fields like micro-blogging platforms. There were multiple layoffs in October 2022 when Elon Musk took over the company’s ownership. Twitter has been struggling since Elon Musk took it over. Musk obtained the company for $44 Billion.
Perceived by many to subscribe to views that lean towards the political right, the billionaire sought to cut costs through mass layoffs. The platform is still struggling to lure back advertisers who are said to be worried about the company’s stability. Musk, a self-proclaimed ‘free speech absolutist,’ has come under fire after the site chose to disable a user’s account who used a public domain credential to track Musk’s private jet. There is not at all an immediate reaction from Twitter on the latest layoffs. In November layoffs 3,700 employees were fired. Musk said the service was experiencing a “massive drop in revenue” as advertisers pulled spending amid concerns about content moderation.
