The bank stated that it is working on another $3 billion package of assistance for the country in the coming months.
It also offered more assistance to neighbouring countries that are hosting more than 1.7 million refugees, the most of whom are women, children, and the elderly.
The United Kingdom has pledged $100 million to Ukraine as part of the financial package.
“The World Bank Group is moving quickly to assist Ukraine and its people in the face of the brutality and significant disruption created by the Russian invasion”, said World Bank President David Malpass in a statement.
The bank stated that the cash will assist Ukraine’s government in providing crucial services such as hospital pay, pensions for the aged, and social programmes for the needy.
