Health Minister Ma Subramanian announced complete lockdown in sundays throughout Tamilnadu and many more restrictions to be imposed as the rate of covid-19 infection keeps raising.

On Tuesday, five districts, including Chennai, accounted for the majority of new coronavirus infections as Tamil Nadu continued to see a rise, with 2,731 new cases recorded, bringing the total to 27,55,587, according to the health department. According to a government statement, nine fatalities have been reported, bringing the total to 36,805. Today’s positive test results comprised 48 returns from both domestic and international places.

To control the further spread of covid-19 and its other variant lockdown on Sunday has been imposed, schools and colleges are to be closed resume online classes and group gatherings are restricted, worship places are restricted on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Expected night curfew from 10pm.

The mega vaccine camp held on Sunday will be shifted to Saturday.

He also added within 10 days its expected to complete vaccination for school kids between 15-18 yrs.
