Special Bonding: Dubai ruler tweets in Malayalam, Kerala CM replies in Arabic

            After visiting with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, tweeted in Malayalam on the country’s special relationship with Kerala. The tweet has now gone viral, with CM Vijayan responding in Arabic.

Several expatriates Malayali’s shared the message. Aside from the tweet, the ruler of Dubai also published a photo of Vijayan’s greeting at the Dubai Expo 2020 location on Wednesday.

“Kerala has a particular relationship with the UAE. Keralites play an important part in Dubai’s and the UAE’s economic and developmental developments”, he composed his work in Malayalam.

Vijayan thanked Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid in an Arabic tweet. “Humbled by your hospitality and warm welcome”, Vijayan wrote, adding that Kerala wishes to expand ties with the UAE and Dubai.

During their meeting on Wednesday, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Sheik Mohamed bin Rashid for his country’s assistance in Kerala’s growth. He also urged greater investment for Kerala, pledging a more business-friendly climate in the southern Indian state.

Kerala Industries Minister P Rajeev, Indian Ambassador Sanjay Sudhir, Consul General Aman Puri, and Yusuff Ali M A, Chairman of Lulu Group and Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber, were also in attendance.
