According to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, six aircraft transporting 1,377 Indian people stuck in Ukraine had left for India in the previous 24 hours as part of ‘Operation Ganga’.
“The progress of Operation Ganga. In the previous 24 hours, six planes have left towards India. The first flights from Poland are included. 1377 more Indian nationals were brought back from Ukraine”, Jaishankar sent a tweet.
Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju in Slovakia, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in Romania, and Gen (Retd) V K Singh in Poland will oversee evacuation efforts. The Union government has initiated ‘Operation Ganga’ to repatriate Indian people who have fled to Ukraine.
