Premier Daniel Andrews has announced that cricket star Shane Warne’s state memorial would be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on March 30.
He stated that public information and tickets will be available shortly, giving Victorians the opportunity to “pay respect to Shane and his commitment [to our state] and [to] his sport”. Warne was born in the Melbourne suburb of Upper Ferntree Gully and played 17 seasons for the Victorian state side, in addition to 145 Tests and 194 One-Day Internationals for Australia. Mr Andrews used to Twitter to announce that the memorial ceremony will be held at the MCG on Wednesday, March 30.
