Russian sanctions might be withdrawn if Russia withdraws from Ukraine and pledges to cease its aggression, according to British Foreign Minister Liz Truss. The United Kingdom and other Western countries have placed a slew of economic sanctions on Russia in an attempt to destroy its economy and punish President Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine. According to reports, the UK government has slapped sanctions on Russian banks with a total asset value of 500 billion pounds (USD 658.65 billion). President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has demanded that Western countries give a portion of their military hardware stockpiles. Anti-armour and anti-aircraft missiles, as well as small guns, have been pledged by several countries. NATO opposes his desire for a no-fly zone over Ukraine, claiming that it may lead to a broader conflict.
