Samantha – Varun Dhawan Star Together In Indian Version ‘Citadel’

After weeks of speculation, Prime Video confirmed Wednesday that Samantha Ruth Prabhu would star in the Indian version of the ‘Citadel’ web series. The web series marks Varun Dhawan’s digital debut and is produced by filmmaker duo Raj & TK, who earlier produced the series ‘Family Man.’

Samantha stars alongside Varun Dhawan in Prime Video’s Indian installment and Russo Brothers AGPO’s global event series ‘Citadel’ Universe. Sita R Menon and Raj & DK write an untitled Citadel series based in India. The streaming service has confirmed that production is currently underway in Mumbai.

After this, the segment will move to North India and international destinations like Serbia and South Africa. The untitled Indian original ‘Citadel’ series is available to Prime members in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

As previously reported, Richard Madden (‘Bodyguard’) and Priyanka Chopra Jonas (‘Quantico’) will star in the first series within the ‘Citadel’ universe, which comes from Russo Brothers AGBO alongside David Weil (‘Hunters’) and is slated to premiere in 2023. The series will also feature Stanley Tucci (story of ‘The Hunger Games’) alongside Madden and Chopra Jonas. Additional local language Citadel productions are also in the works, including an original Italian series starring Matilda de Angelis.
