According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director general Rafael Mariano Grossi, Russian shelling near the Chernobyl nuclear power facility has prohibited staff from rotating to and from the site. Shelling is harming ‘the homes and families of those operating workers who maintain the nuclear and radiation safety’ of the facility, Ukraine’s regulatory body informed the IAEA on Thursday. In 1986, the world’s biggest nuclear tragedy occurred at Chernobyl.
