Russia-Ukraine conflict: The US reaches out to oil sources in response to Putin’s threat

Three troubled oil regimes that American President Joe Biden and other US presidents have spectacularly ignored — Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, and Iran — are now targets of US outreach as global gasoline prices soar amid the Ukraine conflict. However, it is unclear if US diplomacy will be able to get more crude oil into the market quickly enough to alleviate the present supply constraint or entice previously rejected oil nations to abandon profitable relationships with Russia.
