The Ministry of Defence in the United Kingdom has provided its daily assessment of the war in Ukraine.
According to the report, Ukrainian forces have launched “localised” counter-attacks north of Kyiv with considerable success, pushing the Russians back from a number of sites.
However, the Ministry of Defence cautions that Russian soldiers continue to represent a substantial danger to the city due to their striking capabilities.
The Ministry of Defence reports that Russia has continuing its onslaught on Mariupol with heavy bombardment, but those Ukrainian forces still hold the city centre.
Meanwhile, Russian troops are “maintaining blocking positions while seeking to reorganise and reset their forces”, according to the report.
