Russia claims that relations with China are at their “highest level ever.”

At a time when Western nations are attempting to isolate Moscow with unprecedented sanctions over Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on Monday that Russia’s relations with China are at their highest level ever.
Beijing has frequently expressed resistance to the sanctions, claiming that regular business and trade relations with Russia would be maintained, and has declined to denounce Moscow’s activities in Ukraine, although the government is fearful of Chinese enterprises falling foul of the penalties.
