We now have further information from the Kremlin, including a response to US official’s claims that Russia had requested military assistance from China.
Dmitry Peskov, Russia’s spokesman, claims the country has not requested military support from China and that it has “independent potential to continue its special operation in Ukraine”, which it refers to as an invasion.
He claims that Russia’s preparations for the Ukraine operation would be “fully realised” and in accordance with the planned timeframe.
According to Reuters, the Kremlin has also stated that statements from the US and EU concerning the operation not progressing as planned have been observed in Moscow.
