The municipal council of Mariupol, Ukraine, stated Thursday in a message on the messaging app Telegram that Russian soldiers attacked a movie theatre where over a thousand citizens had taken refuge. Mariupol City Council stated “The intruders completely damaged the Drama Theatre. More than a thousand individuals sought safety here. This is something we will never forgive”. Satellite photographs from three days earlier, released by AFP, show the word “children” inscribed in Russian on the sidewalk in front of and behind the structure.
There has been no information on the number of victims, but photos published by AFP showed a half-burned-down structure surrounded by rubble.
