As the situation in Ukraine continues to deteriorate following Russia’s military incursion in the Donbas area, the Indian embassy in Kiev issued a statement on Thursday urging Indian people to remain calm and secure.
The warning was issued in response to Russian military activities in the Donbas area, which have sparked international condemnation and sanctions.
“Ukraine’s current situation is extremely precarious. Please be calm and secure wherever you are, whether at home, at hostels, hotels, or in transit “According to the embassy,
“All visitors to Kyiv, including those from the western areas of the city, are recommended to return to their respective cities for the time being, particularly to safer locations along the western neighbouring nations,” the alert continued.
For any developments, the embassy said it will send more alerts.
Special military operations have been initiated “to safeguard” the inhabitants of the Donbas area, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Other nations, he warned, would face “consequences” if they tried to interfere with Russia’s move.
Russia’s military activities in Donbas have been criticised by leaders from a number of nations, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and the European Union.
Ukraine has declared martial law and asked civilians to remain calm in the face of Russia’s military actions. Due to a “high danger to aviation safety,” Ukraine has blocked its airspace to commercial planes. The Russian representative to the United Nations, Vasily Alekseevich Nebenzya, defended Russia’s decision to intervene militarily in the Donbas area, saying that “the foundation of today’s problem around Ukraine is Ukraine’s actions.”The Russian operation, according to Nebenzya, is intended to safeguard citizens in eastern Ukraine.
