Days after announcing that they will not postpone the release of RRR, a mega-budget film starring industry giants from the South and Bollywood, the producers appear to have reversed their mind. According to the most recent official announcement from SS Rajamouli’s team, RRR will now be delayed as well.

The Multi-language film, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, was set to hit theatres on January 7. Surprisingly, the DVV Entertainments production has now been delayed only six days before its theatrical debut, despite the team’s zealous advertising efforts.

The decision to postpone the release date was revealed on the RRR film’s official Twitter account. “Keeping the best interests of all interested parties in mind, we are compelled to postpone our project,” the message said. “We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our fans and audience members for their unwavering support.” “Despite our tireless efforts, certain things are beyond our control. We have no option but to beg you to hold on to your joy as several Indian state’s close theatres. “We pledge to restore the glory of Indian cinema, and when the time comes, WE WILL,” the message said.

In response to the escalating number of COVID-19 cases in the country, Delhi has also ordered the closure of movie halls, theatres, and multiplexes, as well as spas and wellness centers. “COVID19 restrictions in Delhi under Yellow alert of Graded Response Action Plan: Night curfew 10 pm-5 am, Delhi Metro, restaurants, bars to operate at 50% capacity; Cinema halls, spas, gyms, multiplexes, banquet halls, auditoriums, and sports complexes to close with immediate effect,” the order stated.

In an earlier interview, Producer and Film Business Expert Girish Johar stated that the decision will likely shake the industry’s recovery plans, adding that there were speculations of RRR, Radhe Shyam, and Prithvi raj being postponed as well.
