Ronaldo strikes to finish Manchester United in top 4

Cristiano Ronaldo scores Manchester United’s first goal in last six games 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion. Finally, the six-match goal drought ended. However, their chances of catching back after going behind were dashed when Lewis Dunk was sent off for a tackle on Anthony Elanga, a yellow card being escalated to a red card. Even so, United were ineffective, as Brighton’s Jakub Moder curled a shot against the crossbar before former United striker Danny Welbeck headed over a late opportunity.
When Brighton lost control and McTominay supplied Ronaldo, he spun away from three defenders and hammered a shot past Brighton goal Robert Sanchez with minimal backlift. Ronaldo, on the other hand, shifted the tone after the interval.
“Amazing goal”, Rangnick said. We are all overjoyed ‘De Gea stated’.
Brighton found themselves into difficulties again shortly after, this time trying to play out from the back, and Dunk was too careless, losing the ball to Elanga, who he then hauled back.
Despite being down to ten men, Brighton continued to pose difficulties for United, and it was a relief for the hosts when Fernandes burst away from the halfway line, put Sanchez down, and tucked away a magnificent goal.
Brighton’s second away league defeat of the season, and manager Graham Potter could only marvel at Ronaldo’s talent.
“I was punished by a world-class finish by a world-class player”, he explained. “Cristiano Ronaldo is a true world-class player. There is nothing further to say about it”.
