The customs authorities detained Shah Rukh Khan and his colleagues for several hours at a Mumbai airport because they were in possession of certain pricey timepieces. The customs division of Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport stopped Shah Rukh at the private terminal. According to officials, they were carrying watches valued at Rs. 17.86 lakh.
They did, however, receive permission to go after paying the Rs 6.88 lakh customs fee. Officials discovered six cases of pricey timepieces, including an Apple iWatch costing Rs. 70,000. According to sources, after all the formalities were completed, Khan and his manager were given permission to exit the airport. However, one of his team members, including his bodyguard, was detained and later freed. “At the terminal, there is neither red channel nor green channel designated for private flights.” At the general aviation (terminal), every piece of luggage is inspected, an official reportedly told Indian Express.
The actor and his group had just returned from an occasion in Sharjah where they had both attended the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) in 2022. The Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative Award was given to him.
