Apple, located in Cupertino, is allegedly shifting a chunk of its iPhone manufacture to India, beginning with the iPhone 14. According to a recent claim, Apple may produce 25% of its iPhones in India by 2025. According to JP Morgan analysts quoted in a Reuters article, Apple intends to manufacture one out of every four iPhones in India by 2025, as the firm seeks to shift some iPhone manufacturing away from China owing to geopolitical uncertainty and severe COVID-19 lockdowns in the mainland area.
According to the source, Apple is planning to shift roughly 5% of iPhone 14 production to India beginning in late 2022. Previously, it was rumored that Apple will begin manufacturing iPhone 14 in India only a few months after China-made iPhones are released. According to the report’s researchers, Apple may move around 25% of its total product production, including the Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, and AirPods, outside of China by 2025. Only 5% of Apple’s output is now produced outside of China.
