Jurgen Klopp’s team warmed up for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final with a completely overpowering performance that included three goals in the opening 20 minutes.

Mohamed Salah scored two of them on penalties, and he also put-up defender Joel Matip for his first goal since December 2020.

Sadio Mane scored two late goals, and Virgil van Dijk added an extra-time header.

The margin of Liverpool’s victory ensures they have a better goal difference than championship rivals City, whom they will face on April 9 at Etihad Stadium.

With both sides having played 26 games, Liverpool presently has a differential of +50 against Pep Guardiola’s +46.
