Price of petrol has dropped below Rs 100 in some cities today.

On Thursday, January 27, the price of petrol and diesel remained steady. Petrol consumers in Delhi would pay Rs 95.41 a litre for the fuel. A litre of fuel costs Rs 101.40 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu’s capital. Fuel costs vary per state in the country owing to a variety of factors including demand for fuel, the consumption ratio of state-run refineries, and foreign exchange rates, among others. Freight costs, Value Added Tax (VAT), and Excise Duty charged by the individual states are also factored into the final retail pricing.
In Mumbai price remained stable as well, with one litre of petrol costing Rs 109.98 and one litre of diesel costing Rs 94.14.
On Thursday, gasoline rates in Kolkata remained stable, with petrol and diesel costing Rs 104.67 and Rs 89.79 per litre, respectively.
