Omicron spike continues in India; Case count is nearing to 1900

India continued to see a huge rise in daily COVID-19 cases, with 37,379 new infections recorded in the previous 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday (January 4, 2022) morning.

The country’s active caseload has already risen to 1,71,830, thanks to the Omicron variety.

In the previous 24 hours, India had 11,007 recoveries and 124 fatalities, according to the Health Ministry.

So far in India, there have been 3,43,06,414 recoveries and 4,82,017 coronavirus-related deaths.

So far, India has documented 1,892 instances of the Omicron variant across 23 states and UTs, with 766 people recovering. The worst-affected states in the nation have been Maharashtra (568 Omicron infections), Delhi (382), Kerala (185), and Rajasthan (174 cases).
