Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, informed UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson that the next 24 hours would be critical.
According to accounts, the UK Prime Minister praised Zelensky’s leadership and stated that “the Ukrainian people’s fight was courageous”.
“The next 24 hours will be critical for Ukraine”, President Volodymyr Zelensky warned Boris Johnson as the country’s confrontation with Russia rages on.
In response, Johnson praised Zelensky’s leadership and said “the Ukrainian people’s fight was valiant”, before the two “decided to keep in close communication”, according to reports.
On Sunday, UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss warned that if Western countries do not “stand up to Putin immediately”, the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine might escalate into a clash between Russia and NATO.
On the same day, Truss authorised British troops to travel to Ukraine to combat Russia, despite warnings that such action would be unlawful and hazardous, and stated that the UK government had “prepared a hit list” of Russian “oligarchs” to censure.
