1 min read

The Ministry of Health has reported, Two new cases of monkeypox in New Zealand. Compared with the previous nine cases, the recent cases appear to have been the result of community transmissions within New Zealand.

But, according to the Ministry, the overall danger is still quite low. Since there is no proven link between the two instances and no connection to a known case acquired abroad, health organizations are bothered that further cases could emerge.

“This is not unexpected and the number is likely to remain low,” the Ministry said. The two new cases are confined to Auckland, and health workers are estimating the risk of additional transmission by using contact tracing protocols.
