The police suspect gang rivalry and retribution in the shooting and murder that occurred last week in Dharavi.

According to the criminal branch’s report, seven people have been apprehended by police from Unit V.

According to a report published last week by Mid-Day, on February 12, two unknown perpetrators shot eight rounds of ammunition at 30-year-old Amir Anis Khan.

He was brought to the hospital but died as a result of his injuries.

Meanwhile, Dharavi police have filed a murder case against an unidentified suspect. On Monday, they detained a lady called Shama Parvez Sheikh.

“The deceased himself was engaging in criminal activities and was friends with the other suspects in the case”, an officer from Unit V was cited as saying by Mid-Day. Amir and others disagreed about who would reign in Dharavi, which resulted in the murders.

According to media reports, the crime branch detained Saeed Sheikh alias Langda Saeed, Mohammed Afsar Asgar Ali Sheikh alias Mulla Bablu, Sahil Sheikh, Saddam Hussain Sheikh alias Saddam Mama, Shoaib Hussain Khan alias Papa, and Yasin Abdulla Sheikh on Wednesday.

It has been believed that the shooting and murder were motivated by vengeance and gang rivalry.
