Mumbai: A maid has been arrested for stealing Rs 17 lakh from the owner’s bank account.

In a horrifying occurrence, a domestic assistant stole Rs 17 lakh from a 76-year-old woman’s bank account. According to the Times of India (TOI), the culprit, who was apprehended by the police, was working as a temporary replacement in place of the regular staff. On February 18, the complainant updated her passbook and discovered that Rs 16.72 lakh had been deducted from her account. When the victim contacted the bank, she discovered that the accused had altered the contact number with her own. While the maid has gone missing, the police are on the lookout for the accused.
