Every year, over 60,000 trekkers and mountaineers visit the Everest area. Because of the attractiveness of the world’s highest mountain, it is a high-revenue-generating component of Nepal’s tourist business.
The mobile phone tower will be built at a height of 5,200 metres.
Ncell, a private sector telecommunications business in Nepal, is constructing the tower. The company has said that it would deploy base transceiver stations (BTS) in at least five places.
