According to the Ministry of External Affairs, an Indian student was killed in gunfire in Kharkiv on Tuesday.
“We announce with great sadness that an Indian student was killed in shelling in Kharkiv this morning. His family has been contacted by the Ministry. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the family “Arindam Bagchi, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of External Affairs, stated.
The student’s identity has yet to be revealed.
According to Bagchi, the Foreign Secretary has phoned the Russian and Ukrainian ambassadors to repeat India’s demand for immediate safe passage for Indian people stranded in Kharkiv and other war zones.
