Lavrov reiterates assertions that the United States is developing biological weapons

          Returning to the Russian foreign minister’s news conference, Sergei Lavrov goes on to declare that “no one listens to us” when it comes to Russia’s security concerns.

He says that “new facts” have been discovered in “liberated territories”, referring to the two Russian-held regions of eastern Ukraine, and that attacks on these areas have been planned for months.

He claims that the Pentagon is utilising Ukrainian land to produce germs that may be used to make biological weapons, an allegation that the US has dismissed as “preposterous”.

According to Lavrov, there is “no surprise” that the White House has denied this, and that the EU and UN have stated that there is no proof of this happening because the Americans conducted it in “deep secret”.
