US Vice President Kamala Harris backed demands for an international war crimes probe into Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on Thursday, citing “atrocities” such as attacking people, including a maternity facility. Speaking alongside Polish President Andrzej Duda at a press conference in Warsaw, where she is demonstrating the United States support for NATO’s eastern flank allies, Harris expressed outrage over the bombing of a maternity hospital on Wednesday and scenes of bloodied pregnant women being evacuated, as well as other attacks on civilians.
