Jharkhand’s Pakur- Major accident bus-truck collision

More than a dozen people are reported to have perished and numerous more injured in a head-on accident on Wednesday morning between a passenger bus and a truck carrying LPG cylinders in Pakur district, around 400 kilometres north-east of the state capital Ranchi.
The exact mortality statistics have still to be determined, according to Pakur Superintendent of Police Hrudeep P Janardhanan, because the rescue mission is still ongoing.
‘The injured stuck inside the bus are being pulled out. We have information from the ground that around 7-8 could have died. But officially we will declare casualty figures only after doctors confirm the numbers,’ Janardanan said.
According to the SP, the injured are being sent to various hospitals based on their injuries, including the Pakur district hospital.
