From October 5 to 11, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar will visit New Zealand and Australia. It will be EAM’s first visit to New Zealand. Jaishankar and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will participate in an event in Auckland on October 6 to recognize the achievements and contributions of Indians in New Zealand.
Both leaders will publish “India@75” postage stamps to showcase and commemorate an “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. Jaishankar will also publish the book named “Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery”. Another book “Heartfelt – The Legacy of Faith” showcasing PM Narendra Modi’s unique bond with the Sikh community will be published.
According to an MEA, Jaishankar will have a bilateral meeting with his counterpart, Nanaia Mahuta, in Auckland to discuss and feedback on the gamut of relations between the two countries. Including Priyanca Radhakrishnan, Minister for the Community and Voluntary Sector, Jaishankar will also interact with several ministers. She is the first person of Indian origin to achieve a minister in New Zealand.
The EAM will also meet parliamentarians, the business community, and the diaspora, including Indian students. Jaishankar will visit Canberra and Sydney In Australia. EAM will be visiting Australia for a second time this year. The first was in February to attend the Quad Foreign Minister Meeting, said the release.
