India’s COVID Positivity Rate Falls Below 10%—Reports 1.61 Lakh New Cases

In the last 24 hours, India registered 1.61 lakh new COVID cases, a 3% decrease from the previous day. The daily positivity rate has dropped from 11.6 percent to 9.26%, while the weekly positivity rate is 14.15 percent.
With the addition of 1,61,386 fresh cases, India’s infection total now stands at 4,16,30,885. In the previous 24 hours, there were 2,81,109 recoveries. India’s current recovery rate is 94.91 percent. The number of active cases in India is presently 16,21,603. The daily positivity rate has fallen from 11.6 percent to 9.26 percent, while the weekly positivity rate is 14.15 percent.
India reported 1,733 COVID-related fatalities in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 4,97,975. As per records, Kerala now has a total of 1,063 fatalities. So far, 167.21 crore vaccine doses have been provided across the country. Over 75% of the adult population in the nation is now completely immunised against COVID-19. 4,71,44,423 first doses and 10,81,838 second doses have been administered to people aged 15 to 18.
