Tracy Brabin, the mayor of West Yorkshire in the UK, declared that she had been successful in securing a multi-million-pound investment from Mphasis, a multinational company that already employs 500 people in Leeds. The tech company with its Indian headquarters will “triple its presence in the region,” according to the new investment. The transaction would “drive economic growth in West Yorkshire,” according to Mphasis.
When meeting with senior representatives at the Mphasis headquarters in Bangalore last week as part of her trade mission, Brabin had just returned from India.
Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin says that “I’m thrilled Mphasis chose to invest millions of pounds here in West Yorkshire, and proud to have them as part of our business community and partners in driving the region forward.”
While Mayor Tracy Brabin and her team were in India for trade talks, Anurag Bhatia, Senior Vice President and Head of Europe at Mphasis, said it was an honor to welcome them to Bangalore.

In addition to giving the people of West Yorkshire new career opportunities, Brabin continued, Mphasis’ decision to increase its workforce and operations in the UK will have a profound impact on the economy. Along with addressing the UK’s digital skills gap, the investment would support the next wave of talent in the neighborhood business scene.
